How to apply motion capture data in 3D Max?

  • Let us do it. MOTEK has great experience in motion data mapping. If you let us do it, you’ll have to send us your 3D character, and we will map the motion using native 3D Max bones and deliver back fully mapped 3D Max scenes.
  • Using Character Studio Biped. In this case, we deliver BVH, CSM or BIP. Your task will be to rig your character in such a way that copies the rotational values of the delivered skeleton onto the skeleton of your own character. Note that Biped has one disadvantage and it limits the number of bones, which mean that toes and fingers motion capture cannot be applied.
  • Using Kaydara HumanIK plug in. In this case, we deliver FBX files which can be used and mapped to your character
