How to apply motion capture data in Maya? |
- Let us do it. MOTEK has great experience in motion data mapping. If
you let us do it, you’ll have to send us your 3D character and
we will deliver back fully mapped Maya scenes.
- Using skeletal data. In this case, we deliver BVH skeleton or alternatively
Acclaim skeleton. Your task will be to rig your character in such a
way that copies the rotational values of the delivered skeleton onto
the skeleton of your own character. You can either use Dominatrix lite
plug in (available on Maya installation CD), publicly available scripts
(search for "bvh" or "asf" in the MEL scripts section
on http:\\www.highend3d.com) or a commercial package to load the files,
to rig your character.
- Using marker(s) data. In this case, we deliver files containing markers
data. When you rig it to your character, you need to use constraints
on the skeleton to make it stick and reach to the markers. You can use
Dominatrix lite plug in (available on your Maya installation CD) or
a commercial package to use this data files.
