How to apply motion capture data in Softimage XSI? |
- Let us do it. MOTEK has great experience in motion data mapping. If
you let us do it, you’ll have to send us your 3D character and
we will deliver back fully mapped SoftImage XSI scenes.
- Through SoftImage|3D In this case, you send us SoftImage|3D scenes,
containing skeleton. We will deliver back ANI files, which can be used
in ‘Animation Mixer’ in SoftImage XSI.
- Using skeletal data. In this case, we deliver BVH skeleton or alternatively
Acclaim skeleton. Your task will be to rig your character in such a
way that copies the rotational values of the delivered skeleton onto
the skeleton of your own character. Search the Internet for available
scripts or plug-ins enabling BVH import to SoftImage XSI.
- Using marker(s) data. Markers data can be delivered in C3D or XSI
file formats, which can be imported info SoftImage XSI for character
rigging. When you rig it to your character, you need to use constraints
on the skeleton to make it stick and reach to the markers.
