One of CAREN’s main components is a 6 degrees
of freedom motion platform. Manufactured by Rexroth-Hydraudyne (NL) and
customized to meet MOTEK’s specifications for quick response times
on one hand and no faults or complicated maintenance, on the other. The
platform is capable of carrying up to 3 people and of giving very quick
response for long periods of time (up to 500Hz). The system is a hybrid
of Electric and Hydraulic actuators, giving quick and short responses
when using the electric actuators and slower but longer responses, when
the hydraulic actuators are used.
The motion platform is simple to operate and it uses a standard P. C.
for the basic controls and maintenance.
Motion Platform Technical Specs
The Motion Platform is combined out of four main components:
- Motion Computer - MC
- Motion Control Cabinet - MCC
- Motion Base – MB
- Hydraulic Power Unit - HPU
The Hydraulic Power Unit gets power from the Power Unit
Control Cabinet (PUCC), which take 440 VAC 60 Hz, 3 phases for US and
Canada and 400VAC 50Hz 3 phase power for other countries, and is located
just alongside of the Hydraulic Power Unit.
The Motion Computer and Motion Control Cabinet get standard 110V 60Hz
for US and Canada, and 230V 50 Hz in other countries.
