Dr Barton research activities build on his expertise in the areas of medicine, biomechanics and information technology.
The three main components of his research output are:

• fundamental research in biomechanics
• clinically applied research in the areas of neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders
• decision-making support with artificial neural networks.
