Most simulations are used to evaluate and improve the performance
of humans in functional environment. In most cases the results are
statistical timetables of reaction times to emergencies and extreme
conditions. Typically an instructor evaluates the performance of
a trainee based on visual estimations.
These results give only basic interpretations of human functional
behaviour. The integration of a real-time 3D motion capture pipeline
with a simulation pipeline enables the instructor to analyse in
detail why the trainee took the specific amount
of time to recover from an emergency. A 3D motion database of the
trainee is created "on the fly". This data gives at the
same time, an insight into the ergonomics of the functional simulation
environment. |
