MOTEK has expertise to create high quality and complicated
simulation scenes, in an easy and cost effective way. We utilize
3 different technologies to create simulations, giving for the first
time new types of simulation abilities;
- the ability of the subject to influence and be
an active part of the simulation as well as
- the ability of the system to change its behaviour
according to the subjects body movements
- or any other pre-defined trigger
Our simulator is built out of a motion capture system
(optical or electro-magnetic), a motion platform (with 6 degrees
of freedom and up to 500 Hz response time) and D-Flow technology
developed by MOTEK. It is the first technology to provide a real
time feedback loop between motion capture system and a motion platform.
We offer three different types of simulation settings:
- Getting pre recorded data and applying it to
the motion platform - our system can use as input any recorded
data (position /rotation /velocity /acceleration). It can be vehicle
ride, boat, earthquake, flight etc. In addition, MOTEK can motion
capture the reaction and body compensation of a subject, which
is on the platform. The motion capture data can be applied to
a virtual character (for the entertainment industry) or to be
used as highly accurate diagnostic analysis tool for human behaviour
(for the medical applications and uses).
- Generating motion for the motion platform in real-time - Different
control tools (mouse, joystick etc) gives the user control over
the platform movement in real-time. This capability makes the
system more flexible and dynamic for the director, who can create
numerous scenarios on the fly. It is also useful for the medical
professional who can dynamically create/change environment conditions
according to the patient's condition.
- Getting a human into a feedback loop - This capability
is unique to MOTEK, and is using patented D-Flow technology. Whereas
in the above options, the movement of the motion platform is generated
by an external operator or data file, D-Flow enables to make the
human part of the system, giving him the ability to actively affect
the system, while being effected by the system. This exclusive
feature, for example, gives a director the option to record a
flight sequence ride, while doing the ride. In this case, the
director controls the speed, height and direction, while experiencing
the flight conditions.
MOTEK has extensive knowledge in all aspects of
simulation and simulation-rides, including data acquisition, using
accelerometers and GPS/GPRS, data processing and programming, CG
design, modeling and animation as well as motion capture, consultancy
and project management.
